Pi Network has set a hard deadline of April 6 for node operators to upgrade to Protocol 21, warning that non-compliant nodes will be disconnected from the Mainnet. This update is part of a sequential rollout leading to the v23.0 release scheduled for May 18, aimed at ensuring network stability and integrity.

While the technical directive was clear, the community response highlighted persistent grievances, particularly around KYC delays. One user noted: 'Since the launch of Pi, I have been mining. Up to now they...'—a sentiment echoed by hundreds of Pioneers questioning the multi-year unresolved KYC bottleneck.

The upgrade underscores Pi Network's reliance on its node operator base for transaction validation and consensus maintenance. Failure to meet the deadline risks destabilizing individual nodes and potentially fragmenting the network's operational integrity.
